Robert E. Stevenson, 88, passed away January 9, 2013 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
He was born June 27, 1924 to Everett and Mabel (Anderson) Stevenson in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy, and served in WWII. After he came home from the war, he was a lifelong truck driver. He enjoyed hockey, skiing and softball. He was a longtime member of the VFW, having been awarded lifetime membership, and enjoyed his various activities with them.
He is survived by his children, Robert Mark (Mary) Stevenson, Julie (Wally) Techmeier, Jill Blaney of Port St. Lucie, FL, Jon (Alice) Stevenson, Jeff (Julie) Stevenson, and Eric (Janice) Stevenson; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by one son, Lance.
Visitation will be held at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird Street, Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at Atonement Lutheran Church, 2132 Deckner Ave, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Jim Gerth officiating. Burial at Knollwood Memorial Park, Manitowoc.
