Charles Overland was born at Winger, Minnesota on December 19, 1891.
He was baptized at Winger and confirmed at Varnes. He has lived in this community all his life. On December 25, 1919 he was married to Mabel Overby at Fertile, Minnesota. He farmed in this area until six years ago when he retired. He was a member of the Varnes Lutheran Church and had served on the board as trustee and deacon. He had also served as a member of the Liberty Township board.
He is survived by his wife; a brother, Guy Overland of Fertile; 3 sisters, Mrs. Alma Berhow, Fertile; Mrs. Elliot (Anna) Melberg, Moorhead; Mrs. Herman Schumacher, Seattle WA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Albert and one sister, Alvina (Mrs. Alvin Burk).
Organist for the services was Mrs. Muret Berhow and soloist was Mrs. Leo Lindberg. Pallbearers were Muret Berhow, Charles Melberg, Marvin Berhow, Leon Berhow, James Jerde and Allen Engelstad. Final resting place is the Varnes Cemetery.
The Erikson-Vik Funeral Home of Fertile was in charge of arrangements.
