The family is deeply saddened to announce the sudden loss of our members, Chastity L.
Shirley, 48, and Jasmine A. Bailey, 23, formerly of Casa Grande, Arizona. They both passed away suddenly on
January 29th, 2023, in Lexington, South Carolina. Both Mother and Daughter resided in Phoenix, AZ prior to moving to South Carolina. They were friends to many and loved by all.
Chastity attended CGUHS where she found a passion as the editor of the school's yearbook for four years. She was also on the cheerleading team for the same. After graduating, she studied journalism at Central Arizona College and then public administration at Rio Salado College. She was employed at the Casa Grande Dispatch as Advertising Supervisor before moving to Phoenix for a position as Human Resources secretary at the Arizona Supreme Court. Thereafter, Chastity moved into the career field of property management at Community Services of Arizona. There she worked for Capilano and Ocotillo Bay as the Properties Manager. She found, in time, that she could further her career and knowledge in property management and accepted a position as Regional Manager overseeing multiple properties in South Carolina. Chastity moved with her family there in March 2022 to continue forward with her career. Chastity was very committed to family and enjoyed celebrating birthdays, holidays and BBQs at every opportunity. Being one of four siblings, she loved her brothers and was very proud of them and spent time with them whenever she could. She loved vacations with her children, nieces and nephews and extended family members and adored babies.
Chastity is survived by her son, Ryan Bailey (Skye) and daughter, Ava Lynne; mother,
Joni Tracy; brothers, Eric Shirley (Jennifer), Justin Shirley (Alicia) and Jacob Shirley; and grandmother, Connie Ballard. Chastity was proceeded in death by her father, Michael Shirley; grandparents, Elzie and Lynn Shirley; and grandfather, Robert Dillard.
Jasmine was the elder daughter of Chastity and the second of three children. She attended grade school in Casa Grande, and then attended school in Scottsdale and Phoenix Arcadia
High School. She previously worked in the food industry at Subway Foods and Pizza Hut in Arizona before moving to South Carolina to be with her family and to continue forward with her education. Jasmine was a free spirit and loved singing, poetry, stargazing and loved being outside involved in nature. She had most recently organized and completed a community project nature trail in her spare time with her little sister, Ava, just behind their home. In honor of her success, the trail is now named "Jasmine's Nature Trail" by the Lexington community in which they had resided. She had an overwhelming love for birds and her cats. Jasmine was young and full of life and loved sharing the word of God wherever she went.
Jasmine is survived by her father, Heath Bailey; brother, Ryan Bailey; sister, Ava Lynne; grandmother, Joni Tracy; grandparents, Judy and Ken Fisher; great-grandmother, Connie Ballard; and her uncles, Eric Shirley, Justin Shirley and Jacob Shirley. Jasmine was proceeded in death by her grandfather, Michael Shirley; grandfather, Skip Bailey; great-grandfather, Robert Dillard; and great-grandparents, Lynn and Elzie Shirley.
Chastity and Jasmine both had a deep love of family and friends, always caring, thoughtful, and giving in all they did to brighten the days of others, including strangers. Both were members of the Church of Christ, Casa Grande, AZ. Their kindness and smiles brought light and laughter to everyone they touched in life. They will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have had them in their lives, none more so than Chastity's younger daughter and Jasmine's younger sister, Ava. A memorial service for Chastity and Jasmine will be held on Friday, March 31, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 805 E. Racine Place, Casa Grande, AZ.
In Loving Memory may you fly with the angels, sweethearts, until we meet again.
