He passed away Feb. 18, 2008, at Springfield, Mo., making his age 69 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Nora Jones; one brother, Paul Jones; and one nephew, Paul Bays.
Earl is survived by three sons, Douglas Jones and wife Denise of St. James, Mo., Danny Jones and wife Crissy of Steelville, Mo., and James Jones and wife Gina of DeSoto, Mo.; two daughters, Selena Jones of Eminence, Mo., and Lisa Marshal of Collinsville, Ill.; two brothers, Willie Jones and wife Karen of Troy, Ill., and Cosby Jones of Eminence, Mo.; three sisters, Shelby Bays and husband Charlie of Eminence, Mo., Brenda Phaff and Lucy Jones of Manchester, Ky.; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and many friends.
He enjoyed his guns, loved to fish and hunt deer and turkey. Earl enjoyed going to bingo with his daughter and sister. He loved his family very much and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Eminence, Mo., with Jerry Piatt officiating. Interment was in Piatt Cemetery in Eminence, Mo., under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence, Mo.
