James McKiernan, 73, the last surviving son of "Mountain Charlie" McKiernan, died at the family home on Mountain Charlie Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains above Redwood Estates. He was survived by a sister, Mrs. Helen Bailey; two nephews, James B. and Charles H. McKiernan, and a niece, Miss Anita Colombet, all of San Jose.
