STEVEN FICTUM OBITUARY

Steven B. Fictum, age 67, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at his residence while surrounded by his family.
Steve was born on April 20, 1954 in Manitowoc to Francis Fictum and the late Evelyn (Roidt) Fictum. He graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1972. On September 8, 1979, Steven married Karen Vogel at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. He had worked at Eggers Industries until his retirement in 2018. Steve had also worked as a bartender at Meadow Lanes North, Stueber's House of Bowling, and was a driver for Rush Logistics. He was an avid bowler attending many state and national tournaments. Steve was a Director of the Manitowoc Bowling Association. He served as President of the Roncalli Athletic Association in 2005. Steve was a girls basketball coach for Cabrini Middle School and Mishicot High School. His hobbies included working on cars, yard work, camping and remodeling. Steve enjoyed all sports – especially Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Braves, Kansas Jayhawks and Wisconsin Badgers. He always enjoyed the Christmas tradition of playing sheepshead with the Vogel family. Above all, Steve enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends – especially his grandchildren, Ben and Teddy.
Survivors include Steve's wife of 42 years, Karen; two children, Derek (Nikki) Fictum and Samantha Fictum; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Theodore, all of Manitowoc; father, Francis Fictum, Manitowoc; sister, Susan (Gerald) Kukoski, Manitowoc; brother, Scott (Julie) Fictum, Two Rivers; mother-in-law, Viola Vogel, Manitowoc; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dennis (Cindy) Vogel, Manitowoc; Kathy (Al) Martyna, Oshkosh; John (Barb) Vogel, Manitowoc; and Scott (Tasha) Vogel, Hubertus; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Fictum; and father-in-law, Joseph Vogel.
Memorial services will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Following the memorial service, a luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at Noon.
