Addie Louise (Kirksey) Harris April 25, 1920-January 31st, 2023

Addie was born to Mollie (Bennett) Kirksey and Albert Sidney Kirksey in Itawamba County, Mississippi on April 25, 1920, the youngest of eight children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Boliver (Bo) Tremaine Harris, her sons, Michael Sidney Long(survived by Deborah), Patrick Elvin Long, and daughter-in-law Cynthia (Slayton) Long.

Living almost 103 years, she saw challenges few of us endure, including growing up during the depression. She was a young mother during WW2 while her husband served as a combat soldier in Europe. As a single mother in the early 1950's needing to support her two sons, she audaciously opened her own beauty salon in Tupelo, Mississippi.

In the mid-1950's she met her Bo. Addie and Bo lived in several different states during their 51 year marriage and Addie held real estate licenses in three of them: Iowa, Ohio, and lastly Georgia enjoying helping young families find their first home.

Addie had many hobbies throughout her life: golf, bridge, knitting, furniture refinishing, and collecting antiques. Most weekends were spent with her family at antique auctions or flea markets looking for rare finds and great deals.

She loved music, playing piano as a young girl, and her Hammond organ as an adult. Never afraid to try anything new, she took violin lessons in her 70's.

After moving to assisted living as a widow, she enjoyed ballroom dancing, card games, playing pool, bowling, casinos in Tunica, and making everyone laugh.

She remained quick witted and hilarious until her final day. It was easy to find her in a crowd, you just followed the laughter.

In lieu of funeral flowers, please give a bouquet to family, friends, or strangers. She loved receiving flowers and was fond of saying "I want my flowers while I'm living!"
