STALNAKER, ROXIE M.
Roxie M. Spicer Stalnaker, 88, of Rockville, Md., formerly of Millstone, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Gaithersburg, Md., following a brief illness. She was born in Wetzel County, a daughter of Curtis and Gertrude McHenry Butler.
She was a homemaker, school cafeteria worker, and sales clerk. She taught Sunday School for over 30 years, most of them at Hepzibah Baptist Church, Gilmer County. She was a member of Tri-County Baptist Church, Damascus, Md.
Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Spicer Peters of Rockville; one sister, Gertrude Amos of Gallatin, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orval Spicer; her second husband, Rev. J. Walter Stalnaker; and three sisters.
Services were held at Sand Fork Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Rich and Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Sand Fork cemetery.
