Daughter of Daniel James and Ila Mae Weaver Townsend. She attended Uvalde Junior College. She was a member of the Rosston Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. Along with her husband, Jim, was the owner and operator of the Forestburg Country Store until her retirement in 1998. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Johnnie, Vernon, and Leo Townsend. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Jim Raney; children, Debbie and Pat Berman of Boyd, Jimmy and Candi Raney of Forestburg, Diane Raney of Saginaw, and Julie and Donald Marshall of Plugerville; ten grandchildren and great grandchildren.
