South Bend - Kenneth E. Metz, Sr., 88, passed away at 9:35 AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, in Miller's Merry Manor - New Carlisle, Indiana.
Ken was born on February 3, 1933, in Bremen, Indiana to the late Harold E. and Lola (Zeiger) Metz. On April 3, 1959, Ken married Beverly L. (Enfield) Metz.
Beverly passed away on September 12, 2012.
Ken is survived by daughter, Johanna L. (Steven) Wandel of Sodus, MI; sons, Kenneth E. (Nancy) Metz, Jr., and Todd A. (Donna) Metz, both of South Bend; grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan (Tara), Cameron, Nicholas, Brianna, Kyle, and Josh; and brother Gerry Metz of South Bend. Ken was preceded in death by his brother, George Metz; and sisters, Shirley Bauer, and Donna Bauer.
Ken honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Most of his life he delivered for B&B Frozen Foods, Mishawaka. Ken retired from Hermann & Goetz as a maintenance worker at Bosch brake systems.
Ken was very active at Gospel Center Missionary Church. He had a passion for community outreach and made time to share the good news about Christ. Ken was a man who made those around him feel important and he always helped others in need.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM, Monday, July 5, 2021, in Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN 46615. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 6th in the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
