Dorothy M. "Susie" Nappa, 94, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Upstate University Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Syracuse to the late Lawrence and Dorothy (McConnell) Michel, Susie was a homemaker, her pride and joy was her family. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of Holy Family Church. Susie loved to travel and shop, but most of all, she loved to be with her family any chance she could, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always took care of her family and was their biggest supporter. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 75 years, John D. "Dick" Nappa on January 28, 2023, sons-in-law, Tom Erwin, and Rodney McCabe; and siblings, Larry Michel, Raymond Michel, Franny Michel. Susie is survived by her four daughters, Cindy McCabe, Debbie (Sam) Tassone, Kathi (Kutz) Guanciale and Laurie Erwin; five grandchildren, Jessica (Dave) Fisselbrand, John (Aimee) Tassone, Michael Guanciale, Nicholas Guanciale (Amanda) and Danielle Erwin; three great-grandchildren, Jack Tassone, Molly Fisselbrand and Adriana Tassone; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Susie's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY, followed by interment in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
