Gwendoline Doris Lenz, 85, Rochester, IN., passed away January 18, 2023, at her daughter's home with her family by her side. Gwen was born in Shrewsbury, England, May 24, 1937, the daughter of Phillip Beddoes and Elsie Randall Buttermore. Gwen came to the United States in 1956. She married the love of her life, Bruce Lenz, July 5, 1958.

Gwen and Bruce had three children, David, Stephen and Teresa.

Gwen was baptized in England as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and along with her family, she spent many years teaching others about the Bible and its practical value and wonderful hope for the future. She always enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and playing cards and playing games with her grandchildren. Gwen and Bruce would spend their leisure time traveling with family and friends, boating, camping and much shopping.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Gwen was known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and her positive attitude, which was an inspiration to others, and of course her contagious laugh. She was also known for her knowledge of language. Many would complement her on her melodic voice and lovely English accent and of course you couldn't help to admire her beautiful light blue-green eyes.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce, father, Phillip Beddoes, her mother and stepfather, Elsie and John Buttermore, and siblings: Valerie Eads, Yvonne Pryce. Sister-in-law's and brother in-law's: Camilla and (Eugene) Rosam, Dolly Lenz, Audrey Lenz, William and (Ula) Lenz.

Gwen is survived by her children, David, Stephen (Marlene) and Teresa (Grant). Siblings: John Mullinder, John Buttermore, Jr., Ronnie Buttermore, Sandra Hozey (Big Daddy).

Grandchildren: Sarah Stillwell (Aaron), Brittania Whitaker (Blake), Ashley Tran (Scott), Nicole Freese.

Great Grandchildren: Ava Stillwell, Heath, Roman and Vienna Whitaker, Ella and Zoe Freese, Nicholas, Olivia, Lillian and Madeleine Tran, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
