Born 12th November 1841 Mexico. Oswego Co, New York.
To Avery And Charlotte Prior Stebbins Skinner Who Married 1st September 1834 Watertown. Jefferson Co, New York.
Albert Was One Of Five Siblings.
He Married Mary Lindsey Harper 6th February 1866
Alexandria. Arlington Co, Virginia.
Parents Of Six Children.from his published obituary: "Deceased was born in Mexico, New York, Nov. 12, 1841. He was the fourth son of Hon. Avery Skinner, for several years member of Assembly and a senator from Oswego County. He was educated at the academy in Mexico, and after leaving that institution taught school in Oswego county two or three years. He then went into the banking office of his brother T.W. till the war broke out, after which he took a position in the quartermaster's office department at Washington, D.C. After the war he was engaged in the business as agent (at Alexandria, VA) of the Walter A. Wood M. & R.M. Co., and finally took a position in the office here as purchasing agent for the company.....
"Yesterday, the day set apart for the funeral, the Mowing Machine works were closed as a mark of respect, and the officers, clerks and employees of the company attended the obsequies in a body. When the sad possession passed through the streets the sidewalks were lined with sympathizing citizens.
"The following-named gentlemen acted as bearers: I.A. Allen, W.H. Copeland, C.A. Cheney, Addison Getty, J.M. Rosebrooks, J.E. Wilcox, B.M. Wilkinson, T. J. Wallace.
"The funeral was held from the church of the Immaculate Conception. There was a solemn Requiem Mass, the Rev. J. D. Waldron, celebrant...
..."After the ablution, the casket was opened and the remains viewed by at least 2,000 people.
"The remains were interred in the family lot in St. Mary's cemetery."
