Carol grew up singing in the choir at Westminster Presbyterian Church of South Bend. She was a member of the Class of '68, from LaSalle High School in South Bend, and went on to attend Indiana University. She was a member of the Morris Park Country Club from 1981 until 1997. She was a dedicated mother, skilled golfer, bridge player, cook and artist. Through all her many hobbies and activities, her greatest joy came from being with her family.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Randy of Tucson, AZ, her mother, Christina Maclean of South Bend, her son, Cory (Rachel) Horan of Elk Grove Village, IL. She was the proud grandmother of Lana and Eavan, who survive, and step-daughter, Stephanie Guzman and step-son, Rick Harker. Special thanks to dear friends, Curt and Sue Anderson, along with Marilyn Imus, for their deep and caring friendship throughout the years.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 10th from 2 until 3:00pm in the First Presbyterian Church of South Bend, 333 W. Colfax Ave. A celebration of Carol's life will be held at 3:00pm in the Church with Dr. Adelia Kelso officiating. When attending the service please park on the north side, behind the church. She will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Carol's family requests that no flowers be sent and that memorial contributions may be made in her name to either the St. Joseph County Humane Society, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or to the American Heart Association of Northern Indiana, 6100 West 96th Street, Suite, 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
