Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct 18, in the church of Christ at Hastings with Kelsey Avant officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under direction of Willis C. Worley and Sons Funeral Home in Waurika.
Helen Huckabay was born Oct 2. 1919 in El Dorado, Okla. She moved to the Hastings area in 1924 with her parents, L. L. and Pearl Huckabay and the family made their home on a farm south of Hastings.
On August 5, 1945 she married Edward V. Gay in Hastings and they made their home in Waurika for a short time. The couple later lived in Lawton and in Denison, Texas for several year and in Corpus Christi. The couple moved to Waurika in 1979. Mr. Gay died June 22, 1982.
She was a long time member of the Hasting Church of Christ.
Survivors include two brothers, Luther and Evert Huckabay, both of Walters; and several nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers were nephews.
