Mr. Dale D. Luthi of Newport, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, died Monday, February 25, 2008 at Newport. He was born December 18, 1923 at Rural Wakefield, Kansas.
Mr. Luthi was a United States Navy veteran, serving during World War II, and a member of the American Legion, DAV, and VFW. He was a Golden Gloves Champion Boxer during his time in the Navy. He was a member of the Garden Club and enjoyed gardening, as well as fishing, working on the internet, singing at nursing homes, and playing with his two dogs.
Mr. Luthi was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, and mother of his daughter, Esther Mae Luthi; three brothers, Emeal Luthi, Evans Luthi, and Herman Luthi; and three sisters, Evelyn Bergmeier, Bernice Sherbert, and Arlene Daley.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet M. (Bennett) Luthi; one daughter, Sharon Henry of Versailles, Missouri; two step-sons, Robert Jordon of Newport and David Jordon of Gainesville, Missouri; one brother, Dean Luthi of Junction City, Kansas; two sisters, Jaunita McKee of Kansas City, Missouri and Beverly Montgomery of Clay Center, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Stephanie Henderson of Thorntown, Indiana, Jeff Flager of Carmel, Indiana, and Tammy Henry of Edwardsville, Kansas.

Memorial Services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dave Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Sullins Cemetery.
