Mrs. Glenda Jo Mitchell Gladden was born on November 24, 1943 in Dallas, Texas. She passed away peacefully on February 10, 2023 surrounded by love. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Glenda was one of two daughters born to Glenn and Josephine Mitchell. She was also blessed to have a stepmother, Pauline Mitchell, whom she loved dearly. She was raised in Grand Prairie where she attended Grand Prairie High School and was a part of the graduating class of 1962. Upon graduating, she worked at LTV Corporation as a secretary in Grand Prairie. While working, Glenda met Jimmy Wayne Gladden of Henderson. They married in the fall of that year, and moved to Longview a few years later. They went on to have 3 children: Gayla, Jason, and Greg. Glenda was a longtime volunteer of Longview Boys' Baseball Association, and owned an antique store at the First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas. She was also a member of Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Glenda loved spending her time playing cards, cooking, shopping, and spoiling her granddaughters. She also loved chocolate and spending time with her dogs, who were her other children. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, sister, Sue Hinson, and brother in law, Pastor Robert Hinson.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Gladden; daughter, Gayla Herberger and husband Bryan; sons Jason and Greg Gladden; granddaughters Abbie Agnes and husband Bryce, Alyson Chadwick and husband Christopher, and Jaci Gladden, all of Longview; nephews Barry Hinson and wife Angie of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Scott Hinson and wife Jill of Traverse City, Michigan. Honorary pallbearers are Bryce Agnes, Robbie Campbell, Christopher Chadwick, Charles Gladden, Kenneth Gladden, and Bryan Herberger.. She also leaves behind many more family members and friends who she loved dearly.

Graveside services will be 2pm, Wednesday, February 15, 2023, in the mausoleum chapel at Rosewood Park, Longview with visitation starting at 1pm.
