Abner Fields Bailey was born in Chester, Vermont, June 5th, 1825, died at the home of S. Kenyon, in Haverhill, Feb. 24, 1902, aged 76 years 8 months and 19 days. He was united in marriage with Lestina Marshall Sep. 22, 1845, in Lowell , Mass., where they resided five years. They then moved to Woodford county, Illinois. While there they adopted their niece, Lizzie Butterfield, who made her home with them as their daughter until her marriage.
In 1884 they moved with her and her family to Ford County, Illinois, where they resided until 1893, when they moved to Haverhill Kans.
He was a man of jovial nature and good temperament, which made him welcome wherever he went, and whose life was marked by and upright life and good moral character. He leaves an aged wife and a host of friends to mourn his death.
A large sympathetic audience meat at the funeral service in the Haverhill Christian church, Tuesday, at 11:00 o'clock a. m. Rev. C. W. Yard of Augusta, made and appropriate address from James 1:12 as a text, after which the body was interred in the Haverhill cemetery.

HAVERHILL
Died, at the home of S. Kenyon, in Haverhill, Monday, February 24, 1902, Abner F. Bailey. He had gradually grown weaker for several weeks and passed peacefully away. He leaves and aged wife and a wide circle of friends.
Funeral services at the Christian church were conducted by Rev. Yard of Augusta and the body was laid to rest in the Garrison cemetery.
