Harrison W. Hengst, 73, died at his residence in Mulberry at 1:15 p.m. yesterday. He was born in Clinton County, July 28, 1879, to John L. and Nancy Curts Hengst.
He was married in 1902 to Rebecca Wenner and in 1926 to Allena Wenner. His marriage to Rebecca Wenner ended with her death.
He was a member of the English Lutheran church of Lafayette. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
He is survived by his widow, one son, Wilson H. Hengst, route 2, Thorntown; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Mussche, route 11, Lafayette; and Mrs. Harold Scott, route 1, Frankfort; one step daughter, Mrs. Cleo Baer, Mulberry; one step son, Edwin Wenner, Racine, Wis.; 19 grandchildren; two brothers, Ross Hengst, Mulberry, and John L. Hengst, route 7, Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. James Vinard, route 4, Lafayette; and Mrs. Verna Mills, route 1, Mulberry.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kleinsmith Funeral Home with the Rev. H. G. Stolldorf and the Rev. W.J.Butt officiating. Burial will be in the St. Luke cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kleinsmith Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today.
