Mrs. Mary A. Troxell, 80, a long-time resident of Mulberry, died Monday afternoon, Sept. 5, at the home of Frank White, in Frankfort, after having suffered a stroke on Sunday, Aug. 28. She had been in poor health for several years.
Mrs. Troxell was a daughter of Wingate and Elizabeth (Lewis) Calloway, and was born in Ross township, Indiana, on October 10, 1857. On December 28, 1876, she was united in marriage with Walter Troxell, who passed away on September 5, 1920. Her husband was a brother of the late Matthias and Allen J. Troxell.
Surviving relatives are a son, Dr. Emmet J. Troxell, of Detroit, Mich., and two grandchildren.
The last rites were held at the Trinity Reformed church, Wednesday morning, with the Rev. R. L. Hegnauer officiating. A quartet composed of Mrs. Charles Kleinsmith, Mrs. Harry Hall, Dan Mohler, and Macy Gunkle sang. The pall bearers were Dallas P. J. Ruch, John Dryer, Walter Roth, Jerry Gable, Clem Miller, and Edward R. Herr. Burial was in the St. Luke cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Troxell lived for many years on the farm in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood now owned by Mrs. Cleaver Snyder.
