On February 13, 2023 Max Leon McGuire, 88, passed away at his home in Stillwater, OK. His graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 in the Clarkson Cemetery in Coyle, OK. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Max was born on July 6, 1934 to Vernie and Lizzie (Weims) McGuire in Coyle, OK. He attended 12 years at Coyle Schools and received his diploma. He worked 19 years at OSU in the Maintenance Dept. He then went to work for OG&E Sooner Plant retiring in 1995.
He married Ople Dennis-Gazaway on September 6, 1985 in Yale, OK. that ended with her passing on April 16, 2017. Max was a member of the Grace Assembly of God Church in Yale, OK.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ople, 7 brothers and sisters, son Monty McGuire, and granddaughter Katie McGuire.
Surviving family members are his 3 sons, Kenneth (Teresa) McGuire, Rodney (Dawni) McGuire and Joseph McGuire. Grandchildren Tyla McGuire, Trenton (Ashlee) McGuire, Ryan McGuire and Rilee Van Fleet. Great-grandchildren Auron, Malakai, Evee, Luna and Eri.
Pallbearers will be Ken, Rod, Joe, Trenton and Ryan McGuire.
