Marilyn Kroeze, age 92, of Orange City, Iowa passed away on Monday, February 13, at the Orange City Area Health System.

Marilyn Marjean was born on May 20, 1930, in Orange City, the daughter of James and Hattie (Kreykes) Woudstra. She was raised in Orange City, where she attended the Christian grade school and graduated from the Western Christian High School in Hull.

She was united in marriage to Gerrit G. "Gary" Kroeze on January 18, 1951, in Orange City, where they made their home. In addition to being a wife and mother, she helped with housekeeping at the Heritage House Nursing Home and was the bookkeeper for the Woudstra Meat Market, both in Orange City. Gary passed away on December 19, 1985, in Orange City, after more than 34 years of marriage.

Marilyn was a member of the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Orange City and participated in the Friendship Bible Study. She also enjoyed reading and making puzzles in her free time.

Survivors include three children and their spouses, Jerry and Connie Kroeze, Lora and Randy Jeltema, and Rob and Julia Kroeze, all of Orange City; eight grandchildren, Bethany Kroeze, Matthew Kroeze, Courtney (Nick) Hengst, Jeff Jeltema (fiancé Virginia Nowakowski), Danielle Kroeze, Heath Kroeze, Kolin Kroeze, and Kerri Kroeze; two sisters, Sylvia Veltkamp and Joyce Vande Griend; and a sister-in-law, Vernell Woudstra Kuiper.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son and his wife, Ronald and Kimberly Kroeze; a sister and her husband, Sally and John De Groot; two brothers, Al Woudstra, and his wife, June; and LeRoy Woudstra; and two brothers-in-law, Dick Veltkamp and Bernie Vande Griend.
