Henry S. Murchie, 75, prominent lumberman of Calais, died at his Washington Street home this afternoon from a heart attack. He had been in good health and was at his office Thursday as usual.
He was identified by the lumber business on the St. Croix River for more than a half century and was a member of the James Murchie Company, one of the famous lumber manufacturers of the east.
He is survived by his wife Harriett, and son Harris of Jacksonville, FL and by a sister, Mrs. Henry B. Eaton of Calais. He was an Uncle of Maine Chief Judge Harold Murchie.
