A native and lifelong resident of Charenton, Mr. Darden died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at the Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.
He is survived by four sons, Glenn LaRive of New Iberia and Huey P. Darden Jr., Patrick and John Paul Darden, all of Charenton; four daughters, Mary Ann Black, Paula Jean, Melissa Marie and Tiffany Lynn Darden, all of Charenton; his brother, Charles "Bull" Darden of Charenton; two sisters, Lucille Landry and Barbara Lambert, both of Charenton; 20 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Mr. Darden was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Aline Cole Darden; his sons, Bobby Ray and Billy Wayne Darden; his parents, Gabriel "Dick" and Lydia "Dole" Darden; and his sister, Yvonne Rogers.
Ibert's Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
