Two Year Illness Fatal to Longtime Resident of Community
Vollney Stbbins, 82, a resident of Muscatine for 53 years, died at noon today at his home. 706 Sampson street, after an illness of about two years.
Mr. Stebbins was born at Ottowa, Ill., on March 2, 1853. He married Miss Lake E. Carey here on June 25, 1911. Mr. Stebbins was a member of the Moose lodge.
Surviving are his widow; one son, Ivan Stebbins, of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Harold Dean Wright, Muscatine, Doris Smith, Davenport, and Geneva Mason, Winfield.
The body is at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals where it will remain for services to be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
