James M. McCormick

The funeral of James M. McCormick, aged 62, of Lewisburg, was held from the family residence Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment at Walker's Chapel by the Mackey Undertaking Company.

The known children of James and first wife, Martha "Mattie" J. Dement were: Mary Ida born ca1872; Thomas K. born ca1874; Sarah L. born ca1877; Jane "Jennie" Theodo born 1879; James William b. 1886; Ira Benjamin b. 1887; Sudie P. b. 1894.

Martha McCormick states in the 1900 census that she has given birth to eleven children and that three are living so three children who may have died young are unaccounted for.

His children by second wife, Mary Porter McCormick were Nettie born 1905 and Katie Nona born 1908.

In addition to raising his own children, James also had living with him in the 1900 census and 1910 census the children of his deceased daughter, Ida McCormick, and her husband, G. W. Harden. These children were James P Harden and
Cora Ethel Harden Stewart.
