Bob was born on November 16, 1933 in Crystal Falls, MI to the late Karl and Hilma (Mattson) Koob. He graduated from Two Rivers High School with the class of 1951. On July 25, 1951, Robert married Alice Gallenberger in San Francisco, CA. He enlisted in United States Marine Corps and served his country until his honorable discharge. Bob had worked at Hamilton Industries, Berkedal and Shimek's Vending, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Manitowoc.
Survivors include Bob's wife of 71 years, Alice. They were blessed with eight children, Evan Koob, Manitowoc; Jeffrey (Cyndi Deehr) Koob, Manitowoc; Matthew Koob, Sheboygan; Randy Koob, Manitowoc; Cathy Gardner, Manitowoc; Sharon Koob, Two Rivers; Christopher Koob, Two Rivers; and Stephanie (Joseph) Myers, Madison. Also surviving is Bob's sister, Patricia Flynn, California; along with other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Hilma Koob; and son, Christopher.
In respect with Bob's wishes, private family graveside services were held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Jason Blahnik officiated with military rites accorded by AMVETS Post 99. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
