Services for Donald R. Pearson, 87, Baldwin, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Baldwin. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Pearson died April 30, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center, Pittsburg.
He was born Nov. 15, 1910, in Le Loup, the son of Robert and Cena Prather Pearson. He grew up and attended schools in Baldwin.
He later lived in Butler, Mo., where in 1950 he bought and operated the Creme-Maid Drive In. In 1957, he bought the Champion Gas Station in Butler, which he operated. He retired in 1962 and moved to Miami, Fla. In 1965, he moved to Ottawa, where he owned and operated a welding shop. He later moved back to the Baldwin area.
Mr. Pearson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Baldwin. He was a former Mason and a member of the Eagles in Lawrence and the Civil Air Patrol.
He married Mabel Whipple at Lyndon on Sept. 12, 1930. She died April 10, 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Vernon, Pittsburg, and Dayton, San Antonio; a brother, Raymond, Baldwin; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
