Per MO Death certificate #23723, burial 02 Jul 1930.

Mary Ellen Lancaster was born December 30, 1852, in Nashville, Tennessee.

She married France Marion Hatfield December 24, 1876 whose death occurred nine years ago.

For some time, Mrs. Hatfield had been in failing health. About a month ago, she came to the home of her son, Charley F. Hatfield who with his wife and sister, Mrs. Jeffery, was at her bedside when the end came.

The funeral services under the direction of Rev. Rountree were held at Meredith Cemetery on Wednesday morning. In a beautiful tribute to mothers, Rev. Rountree told of the beautiful Christian life that always prevailed in Mrs. Hatfield's home.

She leaves to mourn her death her children: Mrs. Dora Jeffery, Lanton, MO, Lily Wheeler, Keifer, OK, Charley F. Hatfield; and a granddaughter whom she reared, Mrs. Glenis Olberg; three brothers, James Lancaster, John Lancaster, of Houston, Texas, Harve Lancaster, of Greenville, TX, a sister, Ida Shaver, and other relatives.

The pallbearers were Oral Bledsoe, Charley Chastain, Lon West, Talmaze Chastain, Norman Gullic, and Albert Parker.

Those from out of town who attended were: Mrs. J. H. Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Crowder, Mrs. Jim Frasher, of Keifer, OH, and Mrs. Joseph Olberg of Oklahoma City, OK.
