Died, at Anna, Ill., Wednesday, Jan. 4, Mrs. Charlotte Phillips, widow of the late David L. Phillips, former postmaster of Springfield. Death ensued after a long illness. The deceased formerly resided here and had many friends and acquaintances in this city. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Springfield for years and was a conscientious Christian through life.
She leaves to mourn her death, one son, A. J. Phillips, of Anna, and Mrs. Addie Miller, a daughter also of Anna, and other relatives at Anna. The following relatives are residents of this city: Mr. and Mrs. William Phillips and J. L. and D. L. Phillips and families.
The funeral services in Anna were held Thursday and the remains will arrive in this city on the C. & A. train today and will be conveyed from the train to Oak Ridge cemetery for interment.
