Wife of J.C. Bonnett
Mrs. Amanda Bonnett, a former resident of Winfield, died Monday morning at 2:30 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Thirsk, New Salem. Although Mrs. Bonnett had been in poor health for a number of months her death, her death came as a surprise to her family and her many friends. She was seventy-six years of age.
Mrs. Bonnett was a devoted Christian and until her health failed was a very active worker in both church and Sunday school circles.
The deceased is survived by two sons, Will Bonnett of Virgil, Kansas, Cary Bonnett of MO, her daughter Mrs. Bert Thirsk of New Salem, with whom she made her home the past few years. Eleven grandchildren are also left to mourn her loss.
Orville and Lester Bonnett both quite well-known in Winfield, having been graduates of the Winfield High School, are grandsons of the deceased.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
