Retired Sgt. Maj. died at his home in St Marys, Pottawatomie Co., KS. He was born in Oklahoma and graduated from St Marys High School.SGM Perry served in the Army and was later reassigned to the Army Reserves. He retired from the Army National Guard in 1983. He was inducted into the Kansas National Guard Hall of Fame. He had served as a reserve officer for the St Marys Police Dept., and St Marys Fire Dept. for years. He was quarter master and founder of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in St Marys, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Aubert-Walls VFW. Survivors include his wife Nadine Perry of the home, sons Bill Perry and Mike (Tammy) Perry all of Topeka; daughters Judy Muchenthaler, Sandy Winters, Nancy Lister, and Lori Perry, all of St Marys; and Mary Kaye Siebert of Wamego. Also survived by 14 grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated March 4, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St Marys. Internment will follow in Mt Calvary Cemetary, St Marys. Piper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
