Margaret Ann Rogers Dennis was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Jackson County on March 1,1943. She passed away on November 27, 2021, in Fall River, MA. Margaret was born to Mackie and Lois (Kelly) Rogers, both of Escatawpa, Mississippi.
Margaret was the oldest of six children and, as the oldest, she was always looked up to by her siblings. Margaret Ann graduated from Moss Point High School in 1961. She worked at Rape's Drug Store in Moss Point, MS, during her high school years. After graduation, she attended The Sanitarium School of Nursing, "The San," in Independence, Missouri, and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1965. After a few years, she felt the need for a change of pace, so she left her nursing job in Kansas City, Missouri, and returned home to Escatawpa. She worked in Pascagoula, MS, at Singing River Hospital as an Emergency Department Nurse and then at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Biloxi as head of the Infection Control Department. She loved to entertain all her nieces and nephews, working outdoors, and she loved to travel with her friends.
After retiring early, she moved to Little Compton, Rhode Island, 25 years ago and had made it her home since 1996. She loved living by the Atlantic Ocean where the weather was mostly crisp and cold and rarely hot and humid as it is here in the South.
Margaret Ann was preceded in death by her best friend and partner, Janice Marchand,
her parents, Mackie Rogers and Lois (Kelly) Rogers, her brother, Malcom L. Rogers, and her niece, Karen Rogers Tackett.
She is survived by her brothers McIlwain (Lawanda) Rogers, Mark (Cindy) Rogers,
her sisters Rosemary (Huey) Walker and Tammy (Mike) Sanderford and her beloved ShihTzu dog, Gus. Margaret has a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Mississippi and Rhode Island that will miss her dearly.
A memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00 A. M. at the Community of Christ Church on Dan Sherman Rd., Escatawpa, MS. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Community of Christ Church in memory of Margaret Ann, if so desired.
