Florence "Geneva" Ballard, 91, died peacefully at her home in Clyde on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 1, 2023, at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Debbie Ralston officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.

Services are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Clyde.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, February 28, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Geneva was born November 12, 1931, in Ackerly, Texas, to Harley McGaugh and Annie Florence Deel.

She graduated from Clyde High School in 1949.

Geneva married D.G. "Shorty" Ballard on June 24, 1949, in Clyde.

She and Shorty lived in San Angelo for a few years before moving back to Clyde in 1981.

In 1996, she was one of the six founding members of Promise Helpers in Clyde. Geneva was a member of the Baptist Church. She was formerly a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Big Spring and Trinity Church in Clyde.

Geneva was a computer technician – one of the first. She worked for the Air Force Civil Service and worked at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring.

Geneva is survived by her daughter, Linda Gibson of Clyde; two sisters, Sue Hilburn of Abilene and Dee Hines of Clyde; seven grandchildren, Chris Allen, Tosha Cardenas, Renee Waggoner and husband Jeff, Dusty Allen, Justin Gibson and wife Amy), Nathan Ballard and James (Jimmy) Gibson; 13 great-grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Cedergren and husband Cody, Lexi Rex, Jacob Waggoner, Timothy Rex, Joshua Waggoner, Natalie Waggoner, Baylor Cardenas, Hollynd Cardenas, Jase Gibson, Madelyn Gibson, Jory Gibson, Elliott Gibson and Zeke Shock; and one great-great grandchild, Erica "Raylee" Valdez.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Danny Ballard, Douglas Wayne Ballard and Perry Gilbert Ballard; and two sisters, Loveda Rosinbaum and Harlene Farmer.
