My half-brother Robert was born prematurely, at gestational age of 7 months. He lived for 24 hours. His burial site was unknown for many years. I was able to trace where he was laid to rest by obtaining his death certificate. Since there was no headstone, my elderly father, who still grieved his passing, asked me to purchase a gravestone for him. Robert finally received his gravestone in 2016, 75 years after his death. The gravestone was delivered to Zion (Sullivan) Cemetery in Indiana, and the wonderful caretaker of the cemetery not only received it, but made a cement base for it so it would not sink into the ground. My father, at 91 years of age was not able to visit the cemetery, but again the wonderful caretaker came through, and sent me a picture of his installed gravestone! I gave the picture to my father for Christmas and he was overjoyed that his baby boy finally was found and had a proper gravestone! He kept that picture beside his chair until he passed at age 97.
