Politician. Adamkiewicz served as the Polish minister of heavy and agricultural machinery industry from 1976 to 1980, and later became ambassador to Austria from 1980 to 1983. A graduate of the Engineering School in Poznań and the Poznań University of Technology, he was employed at H. Cegielski Works at Poznan, eventually becoming the chief director after the ousting of former managing director Wladyslaw Kostuj. In 1971, Adamkiewicz became the undersecretary of state in the Ministry of Heavy Industry and served as the first deputy minister from 1973 to 1976.
