Marie P. Watson, 91, of 1090 Old Broughton Road, Eldorado, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Watson Funeral Home with Dennis Robison and Herb Buche officiating and burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado.

She was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Gibsonia to the late Alfred Douglas Potts and Anna Belle (Clark) Potts. She worked as a welder in Evansville, Ind., during World War II while her husband was serving in the U.S. Army. She was a member of the Eldorado First Christian Church. She worked as a volunteer at Ferrell Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for 20 years, serving over 5,500 hours. She served as treasurer for the Eldorado Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Eldorado Township High School Class of 1935.


On Feb. 198, 1940, she married John H. Watson, who preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1985.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Doug (Cindy) Watson of Eldorado; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Shane) Stigall of Benton, Ky. and Sean (Marci) Watson of Eldorado; three great-granddaughters, Lauren (Chris) Powell of Benton, Ky., Lindsey (Tim) Beaudoin of Benton, Ky. and Kristen (Casey) Cooper of Benton, Ky.; and two great-great-grandsons, Jackson and Brayden.

She is also survived by a sister, Wanda (Bud) Fisher of Evansville, Ind.



She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Potts; and a sister, Mary Ann Cook.
