**Virginia L. "Ginger" Spies, Goose Lake, died suddenly Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at her home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Virginia Streicher was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Moline. She married Allen Spies in 1959 in Princeton. The couple farmed in Scott County and near Goose Lake for most of their married life. She drove school bus for North Scott and Northeast schools. She also drove grain truck and worked as a driver for Eastern Iowa Cooperative, Farm Service and Liquid Grow. Survivors include her husband, Allen; sons, Marty and Lorne, Low Moor; two grandchildren; and her father, Cecil Streicher, Peru, Ill.
