John Bush
John Bush of Hartslog Valley died Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, April 6, 1927. Thusday morning he underwent an operation for the removal of his tonsils and a day later developed asthma which brought on his death. His general health has not been good for several months past. He was born in Juniata township August 29, 1865 and was the son of Augustus and Catherine Bush both deceased. The parents were born in Germany. At the time of his death he was aged 62 years, four months and twenty-three days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Bordell who survives him with eight children, Martha wife of John Eckley, of Petersburg, Carl, Elwood, Raymond, Amanda, Margaret, Catherine and John all at home. He is survived by four brothers and three sisters, Valentine Bush, of Hesston, Silas Bush, of Juniata township, Christ Bush, of Huntingdon, Rudolph Bush of Shavers Creek Valley, Mrs. A.L. David, of Mill Creek, Mrs. A.M. Kelley, of Huntingdon, and Mrs. John Heffner, of Kingsley, Iowa.
The deceased was a most estimable citizen and one of Hartslog Valley's progressive farmers. A member of the Reformed Church, at McConnellstown where funeral sercices will be held Sunday morning at ten o'clock with interment at the Acker Cemetery in Juniata Township.
