Fred was born Dec. 17, 1902 in San Benito County. His parents name were Adelbert & Susie (Abbe)Ames. He and his younger brother (Robert)grew up and went to school in the San Juan Bautista and Ausaymas area. Although Robert went to school in Oakland, they were very close all of their lives. Fred married Andrea Weiss Nov. 3, 1927, and adopted 2 children, Katherine & David. Fred was always a farmer, but had very rough times during the depression. He managed to struggle along, and became a very successful, respected, and trusted farmer. He loved very much his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Fred and Andrea took many trips, and more time than not, taking grandchildren with them. Many memories were made because of their generosity.
