Politician. Biernawski served in parliament as a member of the Sejm of the People's Republic of Poland of the first term from 1952 to 1956. He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Warsaw and the University of Technology with degrees in science and mechanical engineering. Afterward, he worked as an assistant at the metal processing department of the Warsaw University of Technology and also worked at the Central Laboratory of State Armament Works. In 1934, Biernawski took part in an expedition to Spitsbergen, Norway, and the Biernawski Glacier is named in his honor. By 1945, he was head of the Department of Mechanical Metalworking of the Mining Academy before becoming the director of the Scientific and Research Institute of Machine Tools and Machining. Biernawski, a member of the Democratic Party, also served on the Budget and Industry Committees as vice chairman.
