Alma Stevens, 87, of St. Charles, dies
ST. CHARLES - Alma B. Stevens, 87, a longtime St. Charles resident, died Monday evening at Whitewater Manor Health Care Center in St. Charles.
Born Alma B. Wiskow on April 21, 1904, in St. Charles, she married Charles Stevens on Jan. 2, 1929 in St. Charles where they lived until moving to Wabasha in 1976. Mrs. Stevens returned to St. Charles after her husband's death on July 3, 1981. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Ridge Homemakers and the St. Charles Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and William, both of St. Charles; five daughters, Mrs. Dora Dahl of Prescott, Ariz., Neva (Mrs. Mark) Christenson of Stewartville, Margie (Mrs. Ron) Buckley of Las Vegas, Nev., Janet (Mrs. Gerald Dailey of St. Charles and Janis (Mrs. Melvin) Harnack of Eyota; 41 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Wiskow and Emmanuel Wiskow, both of St. Charles;and four sisters, Viola Witt on Ontario, Wisc., Annie Ringler of Motley, Minn., and Grace (Mrs.Walter) Benedett and Ruby Wiskow, both of St. Charles. A son, three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. Norman Wahl oficiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 9 a.m. to 11:0 a.m. Thursday at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles and an hour before the service at the church.
