Mother of Carol Feldkirchner Mueller Hernandez (1932-2018) and Dennis Feldkirchner (1938-present) with husband Glenn Feldkirchner (1903-1981), who though they were legally married were not together at the time of her death. He left her after the birth of their daughter and reunited five years later. She left him this time, but was pregnant with her son. She died of an intestinal blockage five days after her son Denny was born, Carol and Denny were raised by their grandparents Art(1888-1979), and Sophie (1892-1968) Hamlow. Gertie was the sister of Lester "Bud" Hamlow (1915-1992), Willard Hamlow (1918-1997),Ione Hamlow Tracy (1927-present) and Leone Hamlow (1927-1957). She was just 25. Gertie's posterity lives on in her six grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren whom she did not live to see.

From the September 29, 1938 edition of the Barron News-Shield:

Mrs. Gertrude Feldkirchner of Almena died Thursday evening, September 15, at the Barron hospital at the age of 25 years, six months and eight days.

She was born at Rush City, Minn, March 1, 1913, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hamlow, and at the age of three years came with her parents to Almena where she had resided ever since. She was married to Glen Feldkirchner on July 25, 1931.

Her early death is mourned by her parents, her brothers Lester, Willard and Robert, one sister Ione, two small children, many other relatives and friends.

Her funeral was at St. Matthew's Lutheran church, Almena, Sunday afternoon, September 18, the Rev. H.E. Klinkenberg, officiating.
