Mr. Lonnie Ray Vanzant, 74 of Orlando, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving wife of 39 years, Teresa and his loved ones following a long illness. He was born in Rockcastle County, KY on November 8, 1948 the son of Hubert and Mandy Vanwinkle Vanzant. He was a retired welder for Tecumseh Industries, a member of Freedom Baptist Church, and a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved being with his family and friends, as well as camping, traveling with his wife, and telling corny jokes. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Faye Miller Vanzant; his brothers: Henry Vanzant and wife Mary Ann, and Roger Vanzant, both of Orlando; a brother-in-law, James Miller and wife Dee Ann of San Antonio, TX; a sister-in-law, Pennie House and husband Mike of Nicholasville; nephews: Austin Miller and wife Lizette of San Antonio, TX, and Jason Vanzant and wife Jeanette of Mt. Vernon; a niece, Vanessa Thorpe and husband Kevin of Olympia; two aunts: Doris Durham and husband Randy, and Alma Vanzant, both of Mt. Vernon; and "special family friends": Sandy Whitaker and husband Harold, and Helen Abney and husband Terry, both of Mt. Vernon, and Scott "Little Brother" Payne and wife Jennifer of Brodhead. A host of other family members and friends also survive. In addition to his parents, Hubert and Mandy Vanzant, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Faye Vanzant; a nephew, Jeff Vanzant; and his father and mother-in-law, Denver and Glenna Miller.

Funeral services for Mr. Vanzant will be conducted Thursday, March 2 at 2:00 PM at Freedom Baptist Church by Bros. Barry Hurst and Mark Poynter. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12:00 PM Thursday at the church.
