OBITUARY OF MRS. BERRYMAN.
Vina Jane Berryman was born in Estill county, Kentucky, November 17, 1852, the daughter of John and Melvina Spry, and passed away in her home in La Belle, Missouri, April 19, 1933, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 2 days.
At the age of sixteen was was united in marriage to G. W. Berryman, and to this union were born eleven children. Two daughters, Elizabeth and Eva, who preceded their parents in death, and nine children survive, namely: Mrs. Joe Fielder, of Shelbyville, Kentucky; Mrs. Harlan Jordan, of Parvin, Kentucky; Mrs. Lela Hurt, of Norwood, Ohio; Mrs. G. B. Stone, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Mrs. Oliver Arnold, of Denver, Colorado; Charles Berryman, of Shelbyville, Illinois, and Harlan, Allen and Dewey Berryman, of La Belle.
Her remains were taken by hearse to her old home in Winchester, Kentucky, where her funeral was held Saturday, April 22, in the Primitive Baptist church, of which church she had been a member for over fifty years. Her funeral was conducted by Rev. Anderson, of Irvine, Kentucky. Her body was laid to rest in the Winchester cemetery by the side of her husband and daughter.
The deceased was a faithful wife and loving mother, and she will be greatly missed in her home and community, where her friends were numbered by her acquaintances.
She spent her last hours of suffering in talking to her children who were present, to believe in the Almighty God and allow him to lead them into the kingdom of heaven to meet her, where heartaches and sorrows are not known and where happiness dwells forever.
