Sarah Alice Cook was born in 1860 and her mother, Nancy McCorkle (born 1843) married William Dallas Cook in 1867. William Dallas was reported as born in 1850 so he would have been only 10 years of age when Sarah was born, making it highly unlikely that he would be her biological father. However, have found a possible obituary for Wm Dallas which gives a birth date of 1842. The obituary is not confirmed to be this Wm Dallas but a good possibility so I am assuming he was the biological father of Sarah Alice at this time. She carried the Cook name as her maiden name her entire life. William Dallas Cook, would have been the only father she knew and was raised by him and Nancy. He is also listed as her father on her death certificate so I am honoring that.
