Verna A. Hicks, 95, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Washington Senior Living in Washington, IL. She was born on January 22, 1928 in Dunfermline, IL to Jesse and Millie (Davis) Myers. She first married John W. Lowe, then later married James Hicks.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Edward J. Lowe; one brother, Raymond Myers; one sister, Margaret Johnson; and one daughter-in-law, Patricia A. Lowe.
Verna is survived by two children, Michael G. Lowe and Marcia K. (Gerald) Pauley both of East Peoria.
She was a foster grandparent at Proctor daycare for over 25 years. She loved to knit and crochet.
A private burial will be held at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL.
