Daughter of Samuel Masham, 1st Baron Masham of Oates, and his wife, The Honorable Abigail (Hill) Masham. Her title was from the fact that she was the daughter of a Baron. She was the first wife of Henry Peregrine Hoare, whom she married on April 11, 1726. She died after the birth of their daughter, Ann, the following year.
