William Wade "Rip" Turner, Jr., resident of the Gallaway Community and retired insurance salesman, departed this life Monday morning, July 21, 2014 at the Methodist Fayette Hospital. He was 68 years of age and died unexpectedly of natural causes.
Services and Interment for Mr. Turner were private. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mr. Turner was born October 8, 1945 in Jones County, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wade Turner and Nell Moore Turner. He received his education in the Ruleville, Mississippi Public School System and was a graduate of Delta State University in Cleveland with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Turner was a former resident of Oxford, Mississippi before moving to the Gallaway Community eight months ago. He was the owner and operator of Walton & Pentecost Insurance Company in Ruleville, Mississippi for 35 years before his retirement seven years ago. He was a member of the Maples Memorial United Methodist Church in Olive Branch and enjoyed cooking and outdoor activities that included hunting, fishing and carpentry.
Mr. Turner is survived by his son, William Wade Turner, III of Southaven, MS; his sister, Matilda Whatley of Brandon, MS; and four grandchildren.
