Gladys had lived in Mentor before moving to Painesville Township 34 years ago. She was married to Dale, the love of her life for 56 years before his passing in 2005.
She attended West Tech High school where she was a member of the Bonnie Belles and the Horticulture Club. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption in Mentor and cherished her time spent in The Mission Circle where she made lifelong friends while raising money for the missions. She later became a member of St Gabriel's Catholic Church in Concord.
She was an expert at crocheting, trivia, and playing card games. She enjoyed reading and would stay up until the late hours of the night to finish a good book. She was an exceptional speller and could tell you the definition of any word imaginable. She loved listening to music all of her life, especially Barbra Streisand and Johnny Mathis.
She especially loved the family she created with Dale, her high school sweetheart. She had a way of making each of her five children feel like they were her favorite and made them feel her love, which was endless. She always put their needs before her own and was their biggest supporter in whatever direction they chose in life. The same could be said for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was their Queen. She had a warm and friendly smile and an engaging personality that made everyone feel welcomed in her presence. She and Dale had the perfect marriage and they are now back in each others arms where they will remain happily ever after and forever.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Brookdale Assisted Living for all of their love and care, especially these past several weeks.
